* Very interesting book... especially the first story about Sarah Winchester. I feel a fic coming on! :D

{2} Goosebumps #22: Ghost Beach - by R.L. Stine /*/ started & finished in mar. 2008
* Little scary for kids, but pretty good... the ending is a twist, but I kinda wondered, but still... it's typical RL ;)

{3} How to Eat Fried Worms - by Thomas Rockwell /*/ started: mar. 2008 /*/ finished: mar/apr. 2008
* Are you hungry yet? :p LOL. This book isn't bad so far, Billy makes a bet with Alan to eat a worm once a day for 15 days, for $50 dollars. He acts all like he doesn't mind the worms, but he really just thinks "worm" sometimes when he's eating them and doesn't like it. I hope Billy wins the bet - esp. after eating all the wigglies! :)

{4} Jack Sparrow #9: Dance of The Hours - by Robb Kidd
^ Quite a good one :) - with a twist at the end... I can't wait for the next one :)

{5} Orphan Train Children #3: A Place to Belong - by Joan Lowery Nixon

{6} Dangerous Ghosts - by Daniel Cohen

{7} G.I. Joe and Lillie - by Joseph Bonsall

{29} Scary Places: Haunted Houses - by Dinah Williams

{30} Scary Places: Haunted Hotels - by Sarah Palvis
* I read this early in the morning ... creepy... sent chills up my spine.

{31} Scary Places: Ghost Towns - by Sarah Palvis

{32} Scary Places: Spooky Cemetaries - by Dinah Williams

{33} Captain Raptor and The Space Pirates - by Patrick O'Brien & Kevin O'Malley

{34} Half Moon Investigations - by Eoin Colfer
* I highly rec'd this book! This was my first time reading one of his, and I was impressed with his unique and sometimes quirky writing style. He wrote Half Moon from 1st person, and the rest 3rd person, and did a great job with it! The book has a twist in the end as well :D - Can't wait to read more of his books! :D

{35} Holly Claus: The Christmas Princess - by Brittney Ryan, Laurel Long, and Jeffrey K. Bedrick
* This was a very fanciful and creative telling of Santa Claus' daughter, Holly. It involves a bit of romance, and some rescuing, and it's all good! :) ~ I can't wait to read the novel version, perhaps that will have even more romance and adventure :)

on to 2009 reading list!! :D

2006 Reading List

For Nostalgia reasons .... and in case GJ ever dies LOL -- I like to have these things :)
I used to keep track of my books I read a few years ago, and did so once when I was younger. It's off the hizzle!! :D

~~~
1) Pride & Prejudice - by Jane Austen
* I absoutely love this book, and the beautiful romance between Mr. Darcy & Lizzie :D
2) Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning - by Lemony Snicket
* His writing is wonderful, and the book wants you to keep reading more! :)
3) Jedi Apprentice #7: The Captive Temple - by Jude Watson
* Her writing style is good, and Xanatos is a good villian, especially since he's Qui-Gon's ex-apprentice.
4) Jedi Apprentice #8: The Day of Reckoning - by Jude Watson
5) Lemony Snicket's - A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Reptile Room - Book #2 - by Lemony Snicket
* Uncle Monty I think is my favorite Guardian so far! I'm really enjoying reading this series! :D
6) Lemony Snicket's - A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Wide Window - Book #3 - by Lemony Snicket
* Aunt Josephine is kind of funny with her very paranoid-like ways, but she needed more gaul to stand up for the Baudelaire's.
7) PeeWee's Tale - by Johanna Hurwitz
* I had to get this book after shelving it at the Library, since it's a Guinea Pig on the cover! So cute! :) - The book is kinda cute, and talks a bit about a Guinea's life from a Guinea. :)
8) Lemony Snicket's - A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Miserable Mill - Book #4 - by Lemony Snicket
* This book was very different, because of what happened to Klaus. (I won't give it away, incase you haven't read it yet ^_^) Looking forward to the next! :D - This series is soooo hard to put down ^_^
9) Anne of Green Gables - by Lucy Maud Montegomery
* This a very cute book! Anne is a sweet girl, who is very creative & imaginative .. but she has a horrid temper, and hates Gilbert Blithe! I'm currently working on reading this, but I highly recommend this book! (Fitting, since my sis recommended it to me, eh? ^_^)
The linkie here is for the whole Anne series box set :)
10) Lemony Snicket's - A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Austere Academy - Book #5 - by Lemony Snicket
* Wonder who they will get to play Carmelita Spats? I think the little girl from "Because of Winn Dixie" would fit well (her name escapes me *blush*)
11) Lemony Snicket's - A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Ersatz Elevator - Book #6 - by Lemony Snicket
* Poor little Quagmires :( - Somewhat lookin' forward to Quigley's intro :)
Again...wonder who will play the Quagmire triplets? ^_^
12) Jedi Apprentice #9: The Fight for Truth 0 by Jude Watson
* Of course Siri, has to like Obi-Wan ... they had that whole bantering in the beginning! :D
* I like the idea of the brother and the girl (not related) liking each other ... aye, I always look for this stuff :)
14) Jedi Aprrentice #11: The Deadly Hunter - by Jude Watson
* She's a wicked one! Too bad Xanatos, isn't in these, he always was a interesting character :)
15) Jedi Apprentice #12: The Evil Experiment - by Jude Watson
* This was a good one, but also sad. Poor Squeegi gets tortured by a political figure, and I guess it's a little more scary/creepy than some of the others, great book :)
16) Bunnicula: A Rabbit Tale of Mystery - by James and Deborah Howe
* I love this book, his name is adorable, and the animal characters are written really good! Chester irritates you, Howard is kinda dumb yet sweet, and Bunnicula .. poor little guy! I rec'd this one :)
17) Bunnicula and Friends: Scared Silly - by James Howe
* Haha! This is kinda like after you watch all those scary films (I love them), and then look all over your house for that kinda stuff ... It's kinda cute, because you kinda realize at the end, and yet, also understand how the characters look at it that way :)
18) The Adventures of Captain Underpants #1 - by Dav Pilkey
* I love this series, they're so funny! The writing is really good, and the fact that nasty butt Mr. Krupp is Cappie Underpants (as Lauree calls him ^_^) is the hero, is interesting. I highly rec'd (for all ages! ^_^)
19) The Adventures of Captain Underpants #2: The Attack of the Talking Toilets - by Dav Pilkey
20) The Adventures of Captain Underpants #3: The Invasion of the Incredibly Naughty Cafeteria Ladies from Outer Space (and the Subsequent Assault of the Equally Evil Lunchroom Zombie Nerds) - by Dav Pilkey
21) #4: Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor P. Poopypants - by Dav Pilkey
* This poor guy ... his name is hilarious, and of course the kids at the school will rip on him! Read this one, to find out what the PPP does to the children in return of their teasing!
22) Peter and The Starcatchers - by Dave Berry and Ridley Pearson
* I love Pirates, Peter Pan, and fantasy, action & adventure! This book must've been written for me... ;) - They're writing styles are excellent, and the chapters leave cliffhangers, and it is hard to put this one down! :D
23) #5: Captain Underpants and the Wrath of The Wicked Wedgie Woman - by Dav Pilkey
24) #6: Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy, Part 1: The Night of the Nasty Nostril Nuggets - by Dav Pilkey
25) #7: Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy, Part 2: The Revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers - by Dav Pilkey
26) Jedi Apprentice #13: The Dangerous Rescue - by Jude Watson
27) Mother, Mother, I Want Another! - by Maria Polushkin Robbins
This is cute book about a litle mouse, who wants another of a simple thing .. and how greatly his Mother misconstrues that.
28) Chicken Little (Cine-Manga) - by Walt Disney Pictures & Erin Stein
This left out details that movie goes into, so I like the movie better :)
29) Doctor Who: Palace of The Red Sun - by Christopher Bullis
This is a 6th Doctor & Peri book, but it's good! :D - They're some twists in the book that kinda threw me, but it was well written and pretty clean too! I recommend :)
30) Jedi Apprentice #14: Ties That Bind - by Jude Watson
This one involved Tahl & Qui-Gon going an unofficial Jedi mission I believe.. I am slowly working my way through this series *blush*
31) Lemony Snicket #7: The Vile Village - by Lemony Snicket
I read this while on the Cruise ... I love these books, too bad he wrote the last one :( - But looking forward to reading the rest of the series, and the then the "Beatrice Letters" :D
32) The Flash: Crossfire - by Geoff Johns & Scott Kolins
I read this one recently, but thought some parts were disturbing and strange .. Although I did like the fact Wally & Linda were gonna have baby, that was awesome! :D
33) Spectacular Spiderman Vol. #4: Disassembled - by Paul Jenkins & Michael Ryan
* This one was different... some of the artwork in it is kinda gross ... but I thought it was cool that Captain America was in it, and I wouldn't mind checkin' out some more with him :)
34) Dawn of A Thousand Nights - by Tricia Goyer
* This was a good book, dealing with Dan Lucans, and his fiance female pilot, Libby. Dan is taken prisoner by the Japanese after the surrender of the Phillipines. I highly rec'd this book, there are some parts that make you sick at your stomach, at what was done to the Allied/American prisoners of the Japanese. I like how Mrs. Goyer writes from a Japanese soldiers POV named Natsuao, who was in an American college, and has since returned to his homeland. At least 2 scenes I cried a bit on. Wonderful book :)
35) The Whipping Boy - by Sid Fleischmann and Peter Sis
* I saw this while shelving on Audio Book, and then went to find the book. It's a different story, with a bratty runaway Prince Horace, who learns lessons along the way, while sharing the runaway journey with his whipping boy Jemmy. They are on the run from Hold-Your-Nose Billy and Cutwater, and meet some good people - and an animal - along the way. I got this book, because I wondered if it was what the Disney film "The Whipping Boy" was based after, which I remembered seeing previews for a couple of years ago, and I always remembered the one boy going 'You're my new whipping boy'. Good book! :)
36) The Magician's Nephew - by C.S. Lewis
* I love this book! C.S. Lewis' writing is wonderful! The book is adventurous, suspenseful, and it also made me cry a bit. I highly rec'd! And I'm looking forward to journeying into the world of Narnia :)
37) Island Book #1: Shipwreck - by Gordon Korman
* This book is about 6 children who are sent to CNC (Charting a New Course) because of things they have done in their life which has a been a final straw for the parents. After a horrible storm, the ship takes damage, and eventually sinks, leaving the children stranded. I like this book except for the swearing in God's name. Overall, it's a good read :)
38) Snow White and Rose Red - by The Grimm Brothers
* I recently read these again because I read them when I was younger, and after talking about it, I borrowed them from my library. These are great fairy tales, and alot of the time have some good morals :) - I like the twist with the bear in the story, it is romantic :) - Defintely rec'd! :D
39) The Little Red Hen - by Unknown Auther and Jerry Pinckney
* I like this story, it has a good moral too it, and one that I can kinda identify with. The Red Hen is the spunkiest Hen in town! :D Rec'd read :)
40) Island Book 3: Escaped
41) Rapunzel - by Jacob & Wilhelm Grimm
42) Red Gloves Series: Hannah's Hope - by Karen Kingsbury
* This is a book about a young teen, Hannah, who discovers her birth father is an Army Pilot in Iraq, and when he goes MIA she prays for a Christmas Miracle more than ever.
43) Gideon's Gift - by Karen Kingsbury
* I really enjoyed this book, it was meaningful and it made me cry. I like this one better than "Hannah's Hope", and I would highly rec'd this, especially at Christmastime :)
44) Jack Sparrow #1: The Coming Storm - by Rob Kidd
45) Jack Sparrow #2: The Siren Song - by Rob Kidd
46) Jack Sparrow #3: The Pirate Chase - by Rob Kidd
2007 ~ Reading List!
It returns! :)
I hope to reach the amount of 2006, and more! :)
Here they be:
Currently Reading: CoN: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe | Eragon - by Christopher Paolinni | Black - by Ted Dekker | Skin - by Ted Dekker</a> |
~*~*~*~*~*~*
1)  "House" - by Frank Peretti & Ted Dekker
 * I love this book, because it deals with the supernatural, in a believeable and way that I see it as. Jack, Stephanie, Leslie & Randy fight their fears .. and the demons in this 'house'. I love thrillers & suspense/horror, so I loved reading this Christian novel. I highly rec'd :) (P.S. Don't forget the movie that will be coming out based after this book -- that will be awesome! :D)</strong>
2) The Tale of Despereaux - by Kate DiCamillo
* This is cute book, and I absoutely love praticly any about mouses, guinea pigs or bunnies. It reminds me so much of Guineas :) - The characters are well written in this book, and Despereaux is adorable! :D - Overall this is a good book, but I think the ending may have been a bit rushed.
3) Pirates of The Caribbean: Jack of Sparrow #4: Sword of Cortes - by Rob Kidd
* In this book, Jack has to settle the promise he's made with the Sea Sirens, and he also makes a trip to Tia Dalma. I think there may have been a few not so good parts, but I'm really excited about the next! Rob pops them out super fast! :D
4) Pirates of the Carribean: Jack Sparrow #5: Age of Bronze - Rob Kidd
* This book wasn't bad, and Madame Minuete is such an evil woman... the only that makes these books a little more adult sometimes is the supernatural content. My biggest complaint about this one is the voodoo and witchcraft type content.
5) Santa Fe Woman - by Gilbert Morris
* This was a really good, and the characters were ones you cared about. The lead lady, Jori, gets better as the book goes on, and relationships develop and people change for the better. I recommend this one :)
6) Captain Underpants And The Preposterous Plight Of The Purple Potty People - by Dav Pilkey
7) The Complex Infrastructure Known as The Female Mind - by Relient K</a>
* I absoutely looove this book! It's a wonderful read, and I highly recommend it! It's funny and alot of is funny. I'm the Vanilla Pudding type, if you've read the book, I'd love to know what you thought & what type you were :) - This book is excellent and it had me laughing, and then at other times crying.
8) Jack Sparrow Adventures #6: Silver - by Rob Kidd
9) Jack Sparrow Adventures #7: Age of Bronze - by Rob Kidd
10) Scary Story Reader - by Richard Young
* Some of these you might remember from childhood, such as 'The Hook Man'. Some are scary, some are weird and definitely unusual. If you like scary stories like me :), then this is a good read! (One of the most oddest, that I'd never heard was 'Tad O'Cain and the Corpse', and 'The Benders' is quite disturbing as well.)
11) The Big Blue Soldier - by Grace Livingston Hill
* The oover drew me to this book, and I remembered my sister having it awhile back. I like the setting since its's WWI, a topic less-covered in Writer World. The character is endearing and you feel for him, as he returns from the war, and has no money, and is beginning/and or is sick. The ending is sweet, although perhaps a bit rushed. Poor Lyman gets a hard time from Mary Amber. I rec'd this book though for good clean romance reading, and for the time setting :D
12) Have You Fed The Cat? - by Michele Coxon
* This book is about a cat who brought, and loved and played with alot as a kitten, but as he gets older the children become interested in other things, and neglect the cat. The only time he gets attention is when he meows for food, the rest I will not disclose as to the outcome :) It is a cute book kinda ^_^
13) Baby-Sitters Club: Super Mystery #2 - Baby-sitters Beware - by Ann M. Martin
* This was a pretty good book, and it was nice to read something from childhood :) - I felt it ended a little fast though, but pretty good nonetheless :)
14) Ghos t Towen Seven Ghostly Stories - by Joan Lowery Nixon
15) More Horowitz Horror - by Anthony Horowitz
* This book was REALLY good! If you love creepy stories, I highly rec'd this one! :D
16) Jack Sparrow Adventures #8: City of Gold - by Rob Kidd
* Another good one in this series, can't wait to read the next! :D
17) Redeeming Love - by Francine Rivers
* I cannot say enough good about this book! The characters are wonderful, and the plot intrigues you from the very start! It's a beautifully written book, a retelling based on the Biblical story of Hosea and Gomez. I highly rec'd this one! :D - It is a page turner, and will draw into the story and characters..that felt really good for me :)
18) The Orphan Train Quartet - by Joan Lowery Nixon
19) The Orphan Train Quartet: Book #2 "Caught in The Act" - by Joan Lowery Nixon
20) Mitford Snowmen - by Jan Karon
21) The Orphan Train Quartet #3: In The Face of Danger - by Joan Lowery Nixon
